Bensley and Dipré are pleased to announce CONVERGE, a new collection that will debut in Soho, London at 15 Bateman St from the 4-6th October 2024.

CONVERGE

CONVERGE is their biggest and most important collection to date.
The work combines analogue photography and painting. Their subjects are shot on black and white film, the silver gelatin prints are then mounted onto aluminium before the artists rework them in their Soho studio.
Each piece is unique, beautiful and complex, a clear thread running throughout the series.

CONVERGE will see a collection of thirty five large scale Bensley and Dipré works. Each piece is floated in a bespoke frame, behind non-reflective, UV protected, museum quality glass. The frames are designed and made in London, exclusively for the show in conjuction with Andrew Sunderland of Beuys Framing.

Over time the collaboration between Nicola and David has acquired increasing layers of complexity, with David and Nicola’s nominal roles (painter - photographer) growing blurred and interchangeable. Both at shooting and print manipulation stages they look to push the boundaries of the process, through applying distortion or interposing other media in the former, or by incorporating scratching, drawing or collage (as well as painting) in the latter. These explorations serve to create a highly distinctive visual language, one that merges their respective disciplines and integrates the materials under their control.

Each piece is 71cm by 64cm framed and weighs approximately 7kg.

All items are priced at £8,400 / 10,000 USDC, excluding local taxes, import duties and shipping.
